WEEK SIXTEEN - JUNE 2002
Jaws.
I've taken to letting Joshua gnaw on my finger to soothe his teething. Man, it sometimes really hurts. I've never fully understood when a mom complains to me that their baby is biting during breastfeeding, but now I have somewhat of an idea. Hats off to all moms who hang in there with breastfeeding when teething, and gnawing, starts.
T.V. time.
Cheryl and I were trying to get some things done, and our two older boys were watching T.V. We propped Joshua between them on the couch, and went about our work. I looked over at the three boys, and they were all glued to the T.V., even the baby. I thought, "This is really sad. Our four-month-old is already getting hooked."

Sometimes us adults need to get things done around the house, but I pray that we don't make use of this "alternate caregiver" too often.

You're cut off!
I hear these words about once a week. Joshua will start playing at the breast instead of seriously nursing, with an amused smile on his face. Cheryl gives him a few chances, and when he doesn't get with the program, she informs him, "Ok, you're cut off!" and down he goes. I just find this quite amusing.
Who's the cutest baby in the world?
Every parent knows the endearing task of carrying a sleeping child from a car up to bed, and laying him down to sleep in his clothes. We have done this many-a-times with our two older boys. Something struck me odd, however, when I did this with Joshua. Usually he nurses down to sleep in his cute little jammies, but tonight I carried him asleep from the car and laid him down in bed fully dressed with his jacket on.

Now, I try not to be one of those "my baby is the cutest in the world and so I have to share it with everybody" types of people, but when he IS, it's hard not to. So here's one of my favorite pictures so far, and isn't he just the cutest baby in the whole world?
