WEEK 46 - JANUARY 2003
New Christmas toy - $59.95
The box it came in - priceless
Joshua really got into, or rather on top of his Christmas presents. We could have saved a ton of money had we known he would be happy with just a box or two. In fact, a few weeks ago when Cheryl and I were doing the Christmas shopping, we had a cart full of toys for the older kids, and were heading for the checkout line when we realized we had NOTHING for Joshua. Not that he would have even noticed, but our six-year-old would certainly wonder why Santa didn't bring anything for the baby.
Penis time.
Kids discover their toes, their ears, their belly buttons. Today in the bath, Joshua discovered his penis. He was quite fascinated. Cheryl had him all washed and rinsed before he even looked up.
Hmmm, I wonder.
Another late night with Joshua wide awake at midnight. Cheryl tried to nurse him down, and he bit her. Hard. So he was cut off for a while. Cheryl and I lay in bed with him crawling around between us. He kept whining and searching for his before bedtime snack, but no luck. You're not supposed to bite the breast that feeds you.

So there I lay on my back, and he crawls over toward me and stares intently at MY chest. I could almost here him thinking, "Hmmm, I wonder." He opens his mouth wide and starts leaning toward me.

I think he would have actually tried it if Cheryl and I hadn't burst out laughing harder than we had in years.
