WEEK 49 - JANUARY 2003
Joshua is very "helpful".
Whenever Cheryl cleans up Joshua's toys, he likes to follow behind her and "help". Anything she picks up and puts away, he picks up and puts it back on the floor. So his toy room is never 100% clean. It's nice to have such a "helpful" child.
Joining in the conversation.
Joshua has become quite the talker. He'll have entire conversations with us now. When the two older boys are talking, he jumps right on in and adds his two cents.

Of course, he's the only one who knows what he's saying. For all we know he could be saying things like, "Hey, what did you guys think about the milk this morning? I found it a little on the warm side.", or "Man I slept great. I only woke up four times!", or "You two mind if I drink all the milk today?", or "Isn't our momma the prettiest momma in the whole world?"

Freedom can be messy.
So now that Joshua's free world has expanded to include the dining room and kitchen, he is much more able to entertain himself. The only problem is, just like every other kid on the planet, he finds the kitchen drawers fascinating. So, our choice is to either spend the entire day trying to keep him out of things, or just let him have the run of the drawers, and clean up the mess.

We choose mess.
