WEEK 68 - JUNE 2003
The fork-meister.
Turkey-head has started being a bit finicky in his eating. We used to be able to put numerous bites on his tray and watch them disappear in minutes. Now he'll eat some, but not as eagerly.

Unless, we discovered, he gets to use a fork! He has to be just like his big brothers and use this amazing utensil. And he actually uses it. It takes him longer to eat, which is fine with us, 'cuz it gives us more time to enjoy our food too.

As you can see, it's still hit and miss, but he does alright.

Walking in my shoes.
Moments like this remind me that our kids really do look up to us and want to be just like us when they grow up. What a responsibility this is. I know I don't always model perfect behavior to my kids, but I do my best to be a patient, caring, and involved parent. I think I'm getting it right most of the time.
