Went for my first swim today – have not been swimming in years! After first lap, my only thought was, “I should have tried this BEFORE signing up for the Ironman!” I was out of breath… arms aching. I now remember why I never do triathlons: I hate swimming! And I’m going to swim for 1.2 miles? This kind of reminds me of my first day in medical school: like I was in over my head, feeling overwhelmed. That water is really cold, too. I gotta find a heated pool!
