Run through Central Park!

I have been in New York for most of this week to help promote Mott’s for Totts – it’s 100% juice diluted with water; a great alternative to sugary juice drinks. I’ve been pretty busy all week, not much time to train, although I have managed to hit the weight room a few evenings. Today I had the whole morning free so I strapped on the running shoes, bundled up and headed north toward Central Park with my IPod keeping the pace. Despite the 30 degree temperatures, the sun was out and I was warm enough as long as I kept running – of course, the morbid thought creeps into my mind, “if I sprain my ankle, I might freeze to death!”

This turned out to be an amazing run! Up to this point, I’ve only been doing 2-3 miles at a time, but today I just kept running through the park, enjoying the view of the Manhattan skyline – before I knew it, I had finished 6 miles. It was very inspirational to be running on the same streets as the New York Marathon with all those famous, world-class runners. Maybe it was a little too inspirational… I was sore for the next couple of days!
