DIAPER CHANGE

"DIAPER CHANGE"
My baby hates diaper changes...

Here is a suggestion that I found helpful:

I insisted on getting a baby wipes warmer for my daughter, even though other parents I knew made fun of me and said it was yet another useless gadget for baby-crazed expectant parents. As I could not locate one in time for her birth, I heated her wipes in tap water, and then later moved to the wipe warmer. Anyway, this made a huge difference in diaper changes. Where she would scream and cry when washed with coolish/ room temperature wipes, she was quiet and content when wiped with warm ones. One day, when I was away from a sink and could not heat her wipe with water, I placed it on my bare stomach to warm it up w/ my body heat. WHOAH! THOSE THINGS ARE COLD!!! No wonder so many young babies fuss! Now I tell every expectant mother I meet that those gadgets are a necessity, especially for a high needs baby.

Dr Jim's comment: anyone who has tried to use a cold, wet towel after showering will understand this mom's point!
