FAQ's

"BIG BABY"

BIG BABY
"Our 7-week-old breastfed boy weighed 9lbs 2oz at birth and is now up to 16lbs! I've never fed him over the recommended times per day and he's now eating 6 or 7 times and mostly just from one breast. Our Pediatrician says he's just fine, but I can't help but worry that at this rate our little boy will be 50 lbs by his first birthday. His daddy is 6'3" so I'm praying that he'll stretch out soon, he’s currently about 23 inches. Is it possible that I'm doing something wrong or will this right itself?"

I see this type of growth pattern frequently, and I can assure you that it will not continue. Of course, if it does (which it won’t!) then your pediatrician might consider checking for some very rare metabolic problems.
