Brachial Plexus Injury

The Brachial Plexus is a series of nerves that comes off the spinal cord just below the neck. These nerves control arm movements. Sometimes during birth, the baby's arm is stretched or pulled, thus stretching and "stunning" this plexus of nerves. With physical therapy, these nerves can regain complete function. Sometimes, however, the nerves never fully regain normal function.
