How Dads Can Relieve a Stressed Out Mom
There are times when Moms put on their supermom cape, and if they wear it for too long, they can end up feeling stretched thin. This is where Dad needs to be aware of how his wife is feeling. A stressed out mom can lead to a stressed out Dad and child. Dads need to make sure they help relieve some of Mom’s pressures before she gets overwhelmed.
Keep Her Wrinkle-Free
A sensitive husband once told me,”A happy Mom makes for a happy family.” Another Dad said, “I try to keep my wife wrinkle-free.” Be tuned into when your wife needs help. For fear of shattering the supermom myth, women seldom confide their needs to their husbands. If Mom seems like she is feeling stressed more often, plot together to make some changes.
Get Someone to Help
Dad should help or get help for Mom so she can have some time to relax. Hire a teenager to help out during after-school hours and holidays. Teens are tolerant, inexpensive, and able to put on goofy acts that hold children’s attention. This relieves some of the pressure from a stressed out mom. Give your children a clear view of what is expected of them, and follow through on what you expect.
